The K4M code covers numerous sub-variants (K4M690, K4M700, K4M701, K4M720, K4M760/761, K4M800, K4M838/839, K4M854, K4M858) fitted across multiple Renault generations from 1998 onward. The Nissan NP200 uses the K4M690 variant under the Renault–Nissan Alliance platform.

Installation Tips
- Clean all mating surfaces thoroughly, removing old gasket material and carbon deposits before fitting new gaskets.
- Check the cylinder head and block for warpage using a straight edge and feeler gauge; resurface if out of specification.
- Torque all fasteners to the vehicle manufacturer’s specifications using a calibrated torque wrench and the correct tightening sequence.
- Replace head bolts if the engine uses torque-to-yield (TTY) fasteners — these are designed for single use only.
- Allow silicone sealant (where specified) to cure fully before filling coolant or starting the engine.
