An essential entry in their revamped Road Series, the Martin Road Series SC-10E Modern is an exceptional, off-the-beaten-path way to experience some great Martin tones and playability. This offset, cutaway acoustic brings some fresh spins on classic Martin formulas with a build to stand up to the trials of touring. Any way you dish out this Road Series, you get a killer experience all the way down.

Martin's Road Series assembles as a celebrated lineup of instruments. Matching the iconic acoustic tonality of classic models with exciting, new variations on designs for something altogether fresh, this Road Series SC-10E Modern bucks the standards in a lot of ways. This begins with a lesser-seen body, the S-13 Fret cutaway, brought together by the standby Martin wood, sapele. Decked in a soft satin finish with a uniform, woody Dark Mahogany color, the SC-10E Modern is a great example of Martin sound and style in motion with a Tone Tension X-Brace pattern featuring 5/16" scalloped spruce braces and non-scalloped ¼" tone bars lining its top. Rich and resonant, this is a dynamic Martin sound palette that won't let you down.

For the playing hand, this Road Series extends out with a select hardwood neck, also wrapped in satin, with a Martin Low Profile Velocity profile and High Performance taper. Easily slipping from lower to higher registers, this is easily played with a select hardwood fingerboard lined with twenty frets for smooth chords and articulate fretting. Faux Mother of Pearl Diamonds & Squares Long inlays line the board for a classic and classy Martin visual motif.

Topping everything here off, this Road Series SC-10E Modern is hit with a great lineup of hardware specs and aesthetic appointments. Firstly, this Road Series is backed up by a sturdy setup of hardware appointments to keep playability in check. A white Corian nut and satin chrome enclosed open gear tuning machines make for smooth stringing experiences while a sloped Modern Belly bridge and white TUSQ saddle ground strings stably for a solid transfer of motion. Secondly, this Road Series entry lines up with understated aesthetic appointments like a single-ring fiber rosette makes for an overall unassuming yet effortlessly cool presentation. Onboard Martin E1 electronics quickly and authentically translate the guitar's tones to the stage or studio. This Road Series travels with an included Martin softshell case.

A break from the norm, a spin on classic specs, whatever you want to call it, this Martin Road Series SC-10E Modern is worthy of the name drop.

Essential reading for PowerPoint presenters.
Format: Paperback, Format: Paperback
Cliff shows details how to improve our PowerPoint presentations. He gives concrete and simple steps to transform a message into a targeted presentation. All of us have suffered from presenters who went over their allotted time because they had vital information to give us, yet we still didn't know their main point. Many have seen slide decks burdened with dozens of bullet points. Did the volume of points yield more clarity or did they dull our ability to focus on the message? Probably not. Read Cliff's book. Follow his method and you'll be a more effective presenter.

Useful with some scientific corroboration
Format: Paperback
Worth it as a primer to slide content and how it inter-relates to the delivery when giving a presentation. Very slightly laboured, like most TV documentaries nowadays - you feel they could move a bit faster (...yeah we got it the first time).

Simple and streamlined to meet anyone's needs
Format: Paperback
This book rocks! It provide a simple and structured way to define, develop and deliver a "Kick Ass" presentation that you can project or just use from the podium. It bring the audio and visual together to compliment a story to be shared. It has taken the hassel factor out of designing a presentation for anyone on any subject. Thank you!

Lasting value but degraded presentation
Format: Paperback
I've been a BBP fan since the first edition in 2005. The second edition in 2007 was a significant update and refinement. The latest, 2011 edition, is not worth buying if you already have the second edition -- the information is essentially the same but the 2011 is printed on cheap paper and the contrast between text and background for most of the illustrations is lousy, e.g. black text on a dark grey background, white text on a light grey background. I found it very difficult to read. The online version (O'Reilly Safari Books OnLine) is slightly better because it allows you to magnify the low contrast images which makes them slightly more legible. Thankfully, access to the online version is included with the ink-on-paper book free via a scratch-off, lottery ticket-type insert at the back of the book. If I had to do it again, I'd skip the paper book from Amazon and just purchase electronic access via O'Reilly. This version is more legible and you can print important pages that you might want hard copies of to highlight, mark-up, etc.
