Strichtarn, sometimes referred to as “raindrop,” uses narrow vertical strokes arranged to break up the human outline in Central European woodland and transitional terrain. Rather than relying on bold color contrast, the pattern emphasizes vertical disruption and subdued tones, making it effective in forests, brush, and low-contrast environments under overcast light. Its simplicity was intentional. The design prioritized function over symbolism and avoided national iconography or decorative elements.
This hoodie uses a faithful all-over interpretation of the Strichtarn pattern, scaled to read cleanly on a modern garment. From a distance it appears as subtle texture. Up close, the vertical striping becomes clearly defined, preserving the character of the original pattern without turning it into a novelty print.
The garment itself is made in North America from a midweight cotton blend with added stretch for comfort and durability. The fabric has enough body to hold its shape while remaining breathable and comfortable for everyday wear. The fit is relaxed without being oversized, designed to function as a premium daily hoodie rather than a reproduction uniform.
