Het seizoen begon wat laat. We hebben in het voorjaar een paar nachten vorst gehad en die hebben de knoppen niet beschadigd. De lente werd vooral gekenmerkt door natte en koude omstandigheden, wat leidde tot vertraagde groei. Over het algemeen waren bloei en vruchtzetting goed. Tijdens de zomer, vooral in januari en februari, waren de temperaturen ongewoon lager dan gemiddeld en zonder de gebruikelijke hittegolven die kenmerkend zijn voor het klimaat van Mendoza. De rijpingsperiode werd gekenmerkt door regenval: intermitterende buien afgewisseld met zonnige dagen kenmerkten deze laatste periode voor de oogst. Door deze omstandigheden tijdens de rijping moesten de wijnbouwers de ontwikkeling van meeldauw of botrytis in de gaten houden om correct te kunnen anticiperen op de beslissing om te oogsten.

Genesteld aan de voet van het besneeuwde Andesgebergte, staat Mendoza bekend als de beste wijnproducerende regio in Argentinië. Met wijnstokken geplant op hoge plateaus tussen 800 en 1200 meter boven de zeespiegel, staan Mendoza's wijngaarden bekend als de hoogste ter wereld. Door de beschutting tegen de regen door de bergen in het westen en de Pampa naar het oosten is de regio erg droog. Mendoza-wijnen ontlenen hun karakter aan een uitzonderlijke zonblootstelling en grote temperatuurschommelingen tussen dag en nacht.

Aruma betekent de nacht in de taal van het Quechua. Deze naam drukt de intense duisternis van de

I loved the plot of this book. The characters just didn’t have a lot of depth. The connections and “love” just weren’t communicated very well in the writing. The author didn’t write the sweet psycho trope very well at all either. Lachlan was just a mess of a character.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.

So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters.
That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception.
SPOILER:
The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured.
I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Fantastic writing and non-stop action

This is a promising, fantastic beginning to what will be a 4-book series. Some readers may be content to read only the first 2 books, but I think you'll find that the story is so good that you'll want to keep reading books 3 and 4.
Book 1 is about omega Elvana's introduction to the "Starling" brothers and their search for another missing person, Kelly. It's a bit of a rocky start, with deception and betrayal a key element. Hardly an auspicious beginning. Each member has their own path and purpose in the pack. Their interactions and the resulting narrative are so well-written that I found it difficult to put down.
There is a cliffhanger that will have you reaching for book 2 as you finish, so make sure you have it on hand.
