Met de driekwartier die de Antidawn EP beslaat, had het net zo goed een nieuw Burial album kunnen zijn. Muzikaal verschilt Antidawn echter wezenlijk met zijn voorgangers. Wie heel goed zoekt kan misschien een enkele kickdrum herkennen, ergens verstopt onder in de mix, maar voor de rest bevat Antidawn geen drums of beats. Vrij gebroken van ritmische patronen krijgt Burials typische sample collages de volledige aandacht. De snippers vervormde R&B vocalen over diverse lagen van uitgestrekte akkoorden en een heel arsenaal aan knisperende “gevonden” geluiden vloeien speels over elkaar heen en vormen samen een “suite,” ver verwijderd van traditionele song structuren. De sombere mood die Burial hiermee neerzet is er een om eindeloos in te verdwalen.
