The Baby Pelham has shorter shanks and therefore a milder action than a standard Pelham. Pelham bits are mainly used for strong horses, horses with limited space in the mouth for two mouthpieces, or horses transitioning gradually to a stronger bit. This bit is not suitable for inexperienced riders.
