De geheel nieuwe FT5 is FIIO’s eerste magnetostatisch (planar magnetic) hoofdtelefoon. Planar magnetic drivers bevinden zich tussen dynamische en elektrostatische hoofdtelefoons. Net als bij dynamische hoofdtelefoons zit er een soort spoel op de vlakke driver. Net als bij elektrostatische hoofdtelefoons is het diafragma een speciaal soort dunne film op micronniveau. De FT5 is op chipschaal van 28nm verwerkt, wat leidt tot een diafragma van ongeveer 6μm dik. Deze kenmerken van de planaire driver maken het mogelijk een hoofdtelefoon te creëren die niet alleen zeer gedetailleerd is, maar ook gemakkelijk is aan te sturen.

90mm Planar Magnetic Driver

De FIIO FT5 maakt gebruik van een uitstekende magnetostatisch driver van 90mm. Vergeleken met een traditionele dynamische driver zet een magnetostatisch driver geluidsenergie op een evenwichtiger manier om in geluidsgolven, door op een veel gelijkmatiger manier te trillen. De trillingen worden over het gehele aandrijfmembraan verdeeld en er ontstaat weinig vervorming door de stijfheid van het membraanmateriaal. Zo kan de FIIO FT5 audiosignalen echt en nauwkeurig uitdrukken.

Micron-geplateerde spoelen van aluminium-zilverlegering

Tijdens de ontwikkeling van de FT5 moesten de R&D-ingenieurs niet alleen rekening houden met de interactie van de spoelen met het 6μm dunne diafragma, maar ook met de dichtheid en geleidbaarheid van de spoelen zelf. Na het onderzoeken en testen van verschillende veelgebruikte materialen voor het plateren van planar spoelen, kwamen FIIO-ingenieurs tot de conclusie dat het lichtere materiaal van de aluminiumlegering het beste was voor de spoelen. Ze stelden ook vast dat het mengen van zilvermetaal ook de geleidbaarheid van de spoelen zou verbeteren, waardoor de driver gemakkelijker van stroom kon worden voorzien zonder dat dit ten koste zou gaan van de hoogfrequente details en het rijke geluid dat kenmerkend is voor goede planar magentic drivers.

Hoge gevoeligheid en gemakkelijk aan te sturen

De driver van de FT5 is zowel licht als sterk, waardoor een hoge gevoeligheid van 110dB/1Vrms@1kHz mogelijk is, d.w.z. 96dB/mW@1kHz. Hierdoor kan de FT5 gemakkelijk worden bestuurd, zelfs door draagbare spelers.

392 draden van zeer zuiver verzilverde monokristallijne koperkabel

De FT5 wordt geleverd met een kabel van 1.5 meter, gemaakt van 392 draden van verzilverd monokristallijn koper, elke draad met een diameter van 23AWG. De koperdraden zorgen voor een solide en zeer gedetailleerd geluid, waarbij verliesvrij geluid volledig rechtstreeks aan u wordt geleverd.

Rating this based on description. My dog loved this toy. It was smaller than I had pictured in my head, but that was on me. I did read the description ahead of time, which clearly states this is not for aggressive chewers. My dog is trained not to rip toys apart so I wanted to give this a shot, but i guess just her jaw strength and teeth were too much. She carried it everywhere. I turned it on periodically. The movements are small, but enough for her to be captivated with the toy. It did mostly survive for about a day before I needed to take it away due to the Velcro opening. Once it started to pull apart she did chew a piece of the Velcro off. It might be helpful with a flap over design covering the Velcro. I have a singing Santa decoration like this where the Velcro is covered up and I have to pull it back a little to get to the Velcro opening. The gaps on the sides of the closure are a bit to large making it tempt my dog to pull and open it up. I wish there was a more durable option that could hold up to aggressive chewers, but this product was clear about that in the description. I think the opening to the batteries could use some improvement. Granted I do not have the perfect answer to fix this, but I am also not a toy designer.

My Dog Went Crazy Over This Electric Octopus Toy!
