Unlike the majority of quadcopter frame that are cut from carbon plates, the X549 frame is made using moulded carbon. This has two benefits, 1 Custom shapes can be formed and weaves can be better aligned to maximise strength and stiffness, and 2 the shape can be aerodynamically optimised for the frame to cut through the air.
