Every RC4 Series 3 device made since 2013 has a miniplug DMX data port. This port can be used as either a DMX input, or output. RC4 devices can also be controlled by wire rather than wireless. In that case, the miniplug port is a DMX data input. (It is even possible to do both! The wireless link can be used for configuration via RC4 Commander at the same time DMX data is connected by wire to the miniplug. This makes it easy to test an adjust Custom Pixel Profile parameters while seeing your console DMX data on your pixels.)
We offer male and female adaptors to support the two use cases above (input and output). We generally recommend having one of each type, to support any type of wired application you might encounter — either as DMX output, or DMX input.
DMX output is the most common way the DMX port is used.
This simple adaptor works with all RC4 Wireless W-DIM, LumenDim, and RC4Magic Series 3 devices that are equipped with a 3.5mm DMX port.
