Japanese Sword & Sheath Metal Bookmark | Solid Brass, Gold Electroplated Gift BookmarkThis Japanese daito, or long sword, was made during the 16th Century in the Azuchi Momoyama Period. The sheath for the sword was made of red lacquer which had a spiral of thin gold applied. The diato would have been worn with a short sword or wakizashi between the layers of a belt or obi.
