Alpha P5 – Bookshelf

Breakthrough design for incredible studio-quality sound.

The P5 bookshelf speaker is a classic two-way design that can be placed on a stand, a shelf, a desk, or a table and is equally well-suited for home theater or stereo listening. A timeless design featuring a 5.25” woofer, the P5 allows you to transform your system with pristine sound. The P5 uses a 0.75” black anodized aluminium dome tweeter to extend the high-frequency response further than any Alpha ever before while lowering distortion to deliver layered sound with detail and clarity. Available in choice of simulated Walnut or Black Ash, the P5 delivers outsized performance compared to its nearest competitors. Simply add a subwoofer (for even deeper bass) and/or other Alpha models for an awesome home theater experience.

  • ¾” 19mm Aluminum Dome tweeter with Neodymium magnet
  • Woofer with Polypropylene Cones and Rubber Surrounds
  • 5-Way, Gold-Plated Binding Posts

How to Improve on a Legend
While the original intent has not changed, today’s Alpha designs benefit greatly from improved materials and production techniques, not to mention an additional 30 years of experience. These new Alpha models are ‘clean sheet” designs taking full advantage of the latest available technologies to create speakers that are smooth and dynamic with the ability to express the full range of musical sounds with nothing added and nothing taken away.

Improved Drivers and Materials
For the new Alpha P5, PSB developed a new 5 ¼” woofer employing dual layer voice coils with powerful magnets and polypropylene cones for detail, low distortion and power handling. A new ¾” (19mm) tweeter is ferrofluid cooled and features a Neodymium magnet for high sensitivity and power handling. A wave guide on the front of the tweeter helps match the response of the tweeter near the crossover point with the woofer for a seamless transition. Of note, the tweeter is placed below the woofer on some models which, in concert with the precisely engineered crossover network, provides a uniform sound field whether the listener is seated or standing.

Unsurpassed Value
In keeping with the Alpha philosophy, the P5 indeed represents remarkable value for its size and performance. In fact, though the new models easily outperform the originals, all of the new Alphas are slightly cheaper than the original models, when adjusted for inflation. Better performance for less money means outstanding value.

A Beta Worth Rooting For
Format: Kindle
In Spare, Violet Fox flips the omegaverse on its head, giving us a Beta heroine determined to make her mark. Joining the Beta Trials to support her sick father, she's thrown into a pack that doesn't want her, especially the possessive Alphas. But here's the twist: their sweet Omega turns out to be her scent match. Cue the angst, forbidden tension, and a slow-burn romance that will make your heart ache in the best way. Violet Fox delivers an emotional, refreshing take on the genre, proving Betas aren't "spares." They're stars.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Good start to a series
Format: Kindle
I delayed reading the series for reasons I don’t remember. But my TBR list is huge so I thought I’d take a shot of this and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think the blurb about it was anything special. But it was a very good book. It took some interesting twists and turns. I am so glad the second book is already out. Because I would not have waited patiently. Very slow burn but good storyline. 🔥🔥/5

A good read
Format: Kindle
Multiple points of view. 3 Alpha men and an Omega male. She is a Beta in training for a new program placing betas in Alpha/Omega packs. Mila is only doing the program for the money to take care of her dad. She wasn't expecting to fall for a pack but when she sees this packs Omega she is done for. There is just something about him. His Alphas are good looking as well. Too bad she is hiding a secret and their government is acting shady. I liked it and can't wait to see where their story goes.
