By: Jason StanleyFrom the bestselling author of How Fascism Works, a global call to action that tells us “why the past is a frontline in the struggle for a future free of fascism” (Jeff Sharlet, New York Times bestselling author) as it reveals the far right’s efforts to rewrite history and undo a century of progress on race, gender, sexuality, and class.
In the United States, democracy is under attack by an authoritarian movement that has found fertile ground among the country’s conservative politicians and voters, but similar movements have found homes in the hearts and minds of people around the globe. To understand the shape, form, and stakes of this assault, we must go back to extract lessons from our past.
In authoritarian countries, critical examination of those nations’ history and traditions is discouraged if not an outright danger to those who do it. And it is no accident that local and global institutions of education have become a battleground, where learning and efforts to upend a hierarchal status quo can be put to end by coercion and threats of violence. Democracies entrust schools and universities to preserve a common memory of positive change, generated by protests, social movements, and rebellions. The authoritarian right must erase this history, and, along with it, the very practice of critical inquiry that has so often been the engine of future progress.
In Erasing History, Yale professor of philosophy Jason Stanley exposes the true danger of the authoritarian right’s attacks on education, identifies their key tactics and funders, and traces their intellectual roots. He illustrates how fears of a fascist future have metastasized, from hypothetical threat to present reality. And with his “urgent, piercing, and altogether brilliant” (Johnathan M. Metzl, author of What We’ve Become) insight, he illustrates that hearts and minds are won in our schools and universities—places that democratic societies across the world are now ill-prepared to defend against the fascist assault currently underway.

So great, that I own 4 pairs of these Sampeel pants!
Color: Pattern Leopard, Size: Large, Color: Pattern Leopard, Size: Large
I own 4 pairs of these pants because I love them so much! I receive many compliments when I wear them. They are stylish, comfortable, and a great thin material that keeps you cool while looking professional. I am 5" tall and can wear them with heels without needing them to be hemmed (which is unusual for me when ordering pants). They have an elastic waist band with drawstrings so I can wear them while losing weight, they don't wrinkle easily, and they have pockets! Great pants for a great price! I will continue to purchase more throughout the summer.

The good with the bad
Color: Pattern Kah, Size: XX-Large
Photos in listing depict a LINEN pant - in the close up's you can clearly see a linen/cotton like material. To my surprise, these pants are a silky, polyester material. There is NO stretch - I am glad I purchased a size larger than what I consider my " roomy " size. These style is also depicted as a beige and black color pattern, they are more of a light mauve color out of the packaging. Took a steamer to them to get the wrinkles out. Suitable for tall girls ( I am 5'9 ) and wearing them with 3 in wedge. They are cute - dressy enough for a business casual office setting or a date night. Probably not the best for hot humid weather as they are not breathable.

Incredibly comfortable and perfect for summer!
Color: Pattern Leopard, Size: X-Large, Color: Pattern Leopard, Size: X-Large
I have to admit, I was a little skeptical about these pants at first. When I initially opened them, they didn’t feel like they had much stretch, and the fabric felt a bit cheap to the touch.
However, once I actually put them on, my opinion completely changed! They are so incredibly comfortable and have a great, effortless drape. The material is lightweight and breathable, making them absolutely perfect for warm summer days. They are easy to style (looked great paired with a simple tank and a denim jacket!) and feel wonderful to move around in.
I am so glad I gave them a chance—I would definitely purchase these again!

Cute and comfortable
Color: Pattern Leopard, Size: Medium
Comfortable and cute. A little long but still wear them with no issues. The material is light but synthetic so not really breathable. I foresee wearing them often.

Love these shirts
Size: Small, Color: Watermelon, Number of Items: 1
Love the fabric. They feel so much better than some of the other shirts I have. They’re thicker and just feel nicer. Love this color too. Got a small and also have another color in medium. Both fit, just depends on how casual I want to look. I’ll be getting more!
