INTRODUCTION:

Welcome to the Control WHS Risks Associated with Electrotechnology Work course. This course only includes a challenge assessment designed to assess your knowledge and skills required to demonstrate competence in identifying electrotechnology work hazards, assessing and prioritising WHS risks, selecting and implementing effective controls, and monitoring and updating risk controls to maintain safe work conditions in dynamic electrical work environments.

Controlling WHS risks in electrotechnology work involves applying a structured risk management process to hazards that may arise before, during and after electrical tasks, including hazards created by worksite conditions, changing work sequences and interactions with other trades. This work requires disciplined analysis and documentation because electrical work can introduce high-consequence hazards such as electric shock, arc flash, burns, stored energy release, step and touch potential, and risks associated with working in confined spaces, at heights or around hazardous substances. Effective risk control is critical to preventing serious injury or fatality, ensuring work complies with WHS obligations, and ensuring controls remain effective as site conditions and job requirements change.

The course assessment focuses on your ability to interpret and apply WHS risk management requirements, make informed judgements about risk prioritisation and control selection, and recognise the practical steps required to eliminate or minimise hazards as far as reasonably practicable. You will be required to demonstrate how you undertake job analysis and worksite inspection to identify and document hazards in consultation with relevant persons and workplace procedures, assess risks considering existing controls, and document risk outcomes in line with workplace requirements.

By successfully completing this course assessment, you will have demonstrated that you can interpret and apply the core requirements for controlling WHS risks associated with electrotechnology work, including conducting job analysis and hazard identification, assessing and prioritising risks, selecting controls using the hierarchy of control, confirming controls are reasonably practicable, documenting and recording controls in WHS tools and registers, monitoring and updating controls as conditions change, and applying specific control measures for both general construction hazards and electrical hazards across ELV, LV and HV environments—confirming your readiness to contribute to safe electrotechnology work practices.

TOPICS COVERED IN THIS ASSESSMENT:

This course assessment is based on the following topics:

1.    Undertaking a job analysis and worksite inspection to identify and document hazards in consultation with relevant persons and workplace procedures

2.    Assessing risks associated with identified hazards, considering existing controls, and documenting risk outcomes to workplace procedures

3.    Assigning and prioritising risk levels (high, medium, low) using likelihood concepts and a risk level matrix

4.    Applying WHS/OHS regulations and workplace compliance procedures to risk prioritisation and control decisions

5.    Developing control measures using the hierarchy of control to eliminate risks or reduce them to as low as reasonably practicable

6.    Confirming control measures are reasonably practicable and appropriate to the work function and worksite conditions

7.    Reassessing risk levels after controls are selected to confirm residual risk is acceptable and documenting the reassessed level

8.    Consulting with relevant stakeholders to agree on hazard risk levels and control measures before implementation

9.    Documenting hazards, risk levels and control measures using required WHS tools such as JSAs, SWMS and risk registers

10. Recording control measures in a workplace risk register and ensuring they are accessible for reference by relevant persons

11. Monitoring risk control measures during electrotechnology work to confirm controls remain valid and effective

12. Reviewing and modifying control measures and safe work methods when job-specific or worksite changes introduce new hazards

13. Updating risk documentation and the risk register as additional hazards are identified and changes occur

14. Applying practical control measures for construction worksite hazards relevant to electrotechnology work (manual/mechanical handling, noise, dust, gases/chemicals, working at heights, confined spaces, airborne contaminants and harmful devices/materials)

15. Applying practical control measures for electrical hazards across ELV/LV/HV contexts, including isolation and tagging-off, working live restrictions, alternate supplies, HV concepts (touch/step/induced voltage, stored energy, creepage), and authorised personnel and permit requirements

Wallet This Wallet That
Color: Light Brown
I bought this wallet to replace my old wallet that was falling apart, and probably 10 years old and so I was due for one! This one looks great and is very functional with many compartments for credit cards and a special compartment for the my ID, and it also provides a protection thing that keeps people from stealing my credit card information and also has room for pictures and there are two large compartments for cash and other miscellaneous paper items. I love the light brown, real soft leather look of it and so far it is really durable and I love it. It was a good buy and priced really well!

Genuine leather wallet
Color: Brown
I like the wallet very much. It has plenty of room for my credit cards, ID cards and other items. Also plenty room for cash money. It’s well made and I expect it will last several years before needing replacement.
